Mercy Flight Central’s Night of Flight: A Night to Remember
Canandaigua, NY — August 13, 2025— Imagine walking into a hangar lit like a runway at dusk, the gleam of a state-of-the-art helicopter just steps away, and the hum of anticipation in the air. This was the scene at Night of Flight, Mercy Flight Central’s one-of-a-kind annual fundraising event — an evening that soared past expectations, raising over $300,000 to support the organization’s life-saving air medical services across New York State.
Held on August 7th at Mercy Flight Central’s Canandaigua Base, Night of Flight was far from the typical gala. Guests didn’t just dress up — they stepped into the world of aviation and critical care. They mingled beside aircraft, experienced hands-on medical and flight simulations, and heard firsthand from patients whose lives were forever changed by MFC’s crews.
“This night isn’t about black-tie attire and banquet halls— it’s about putting people right in the heart of our mission,” said Jeff Bartkoski, President and CEO of Mercy Flight Central. “When our guests can see, touch, and hear the very tools and stories that save lives, the impact is unforgettable.”
Highlights of this year’s event included:
Live Aircraft Access: Guests explored the new AW119MKII helicopter up close, stepping inside the same aircraft used in real-life emergencies.
High-Intensity Simulations: Flight crews demonstrated the split-second decisions and advanced care that happen in the air.
Stories from the Heart: A former patient took the stage to share how Mercy Flight Central’s rapid response made the difference between life and death.
Bidding Wars with Purpose: The live auction and cash call turned into a high-energy show of generosity, funding missions on the spot.
The energy in the room was electric — and the results speak for themselves. The funds raised will ensure Mercy Flight Central can continue responding 24/7/365 to critical emergencies, never turning away a patient due to inability to pay.
Mercy Flight Central extends heartfelt thanks to The Sands Family Foundation for serving as lead sponsor and making the night possible, along with every supporter, volunteer, and attendee who joined the mission.
