The shortest distance between two points
improves the outcome of critically ill and injured patients. This was
the founding principle for the establishment of Mercy Flight Central as
a non-profit organization in 1992. It remains the reasoning for the
ongoing relationship with our EMS partners and hospital alliances.
Mercy Flight Central offers air medical services to the residents of New
York State and beyond. Our service offers the highest level of
pre-hospital care to our patients. Our critical care teams consist of
highly skilled registered nurses, paramedics, and volunteer medical
control physicians. These teams work closely together to care for
critically ill and injured patients requiring advanced treatment and
rapid air transport to specialized medical centers. The aircraft
utilized in transports includes helicopters, which travel within a 150
mile radius of our base locations in Canandaigua and Marcellus. The twin
engine airplanes are utilized for transports to further reaches of the
United States and Canada. Aside from typical patient transports, we
routinely handle pre-transplant and post-transplant patients.
